Contract successfully signed
July 2021: After the trade fair literally had to be paused in shutdown mode for months due to the Corona situation, an important step towards the future has now been taken: The Mitteldeutsche Hartstein-Industrie AG (MHI) will again provide suitable areas for steinexpo 2023 and 2026 in Europe's largest basalt quarry in Homberg/Nieder-Ofleiden. For this purpose, the contract between the organiser Geoplan and the quarry operator MHI was signed on 21 July 2021. At the same time, the organisers of Europe's largest quarry demonstration fair started the actual preparatory work for the 11th steinexpo from 23 to 26 August 2023.
May 2021: In an unfortunate turn of events, the 11th international demonstration fair for the raw materials and building materials industry had to be cancelled without an alternative event this year because of the unpredictable development of the Corona pandemic. A new date has now been set for the 11th steinexpo. The national and international raw materials and building materials industry will again meet in Nieder-Ofleiden in the state of Hesse in Germany from 23 to 29 August 2023.
January 2021: After steinexpo 2020 was postponed to April 2021 thanks to the exemplary cooperation of all partners involved and the date had been announced, nothing seemed to stand in the way of hosting another successful event. But now it turns out that the measures relating to the pandemic do not allow a trade fair to be held. The 11th international demonstration fair for the raw materials and building materials industry planned for 2021 must therefore be cancelled due to this unforeseeable development. There will not be another date outside the established three-year cycle. The 11th steinexpo will therefore only take place in September 2023 in the MHI quarry in Nieder-Ofleiden.
November 2020: The 11th steinexpo is firmly planned for Spring 2021 from 14 to 17 April 2021. You can rest assured that every effort is made to ensure that this international demonstration fair for the raw materials and building materials industry once again confirms its image as an outstanding industry platform.
August 2020: The managing director of the German Demolition Association (DA), Andreas Pocha, and steinexpo trade fair director Dr Friedhelm Rese have agreed already in March that the DA will also enter into a technical and conceptual partnership for the demonstration fair with immediate effect. This means that the steinexpo is now supported and backed by five association partners.
August 2020: Following the announcement of the Corona virus-related postponement of the 11th steinexpo to 14-17 April 2021, the trade fair organiser has given all exhibitors already registered for the trade fair originally planned for August 2020 the opportunity to confirm their participation in 2021 by simply declaring their interest in the postponed event. The positive response to this is simply impressive: Around 85% of the exhibitors immediately jumped at the opportunity and are now preparing their participation in April 2021 in Nieder-Ofleiden. The rest of the exhibitors did not in fact cancel their participation but left the possibility of their participation open at the moment, a decision in many cases also due to the Corona virus. This extremely positive response, which no-one could have expected in advance, is a strong motivating factor for the trade fair team to plan the demonstration exhibition in the spring of 2021.
June 2020: After the German Federal Government and the Minister Presidents of the federal states banned such large-scale events in mid-April 2020 with reference to the infection dynamics of such events at least until 31 August 2020, the curtain also came down for steinexpo this year. This means that the trade fair originally planned from 26 to 29 August 2020 must be postponed. After numerous discussions, the new date has now been set: the 11th international demonstration trade fair for the raw materials and building materials industry will take place (formally subject to Corona) from 14 to 17 April 2021 at the well-known venue in the MHI stone quarry in Nieder-Ofleiden.
April 2020: On 15 April 2020, the German Federal Government and the Minister Presidents of the Federal States declared that major events play an enormous role in the dynamics of infection. As a result, such events were banned at least until 31 August 2020. This means that the steinexpo planned for 26th to 29th August 2020 in Nieder-Ofleiden, Hessen, will also have to be postponed until 2021.
February 2020: At the upcoming steinexpo, the "Quarry Vision" pay-off line will be the central theme running through the entire event as an interconnecting thread. A sector innovation park newly integrated into the concept represents the essence of innovative visions. Pilot machines and plants, future-oriented products and services can be marvelled at on site and in some cases can even be experienced live in action. "Quarry Vision" will receive its own corporate design within the demonstration trade fair and will represent the future-oriented nature of the industry with guaranteed "wow" effects.
November 2019: Trade fair director Dr. Friedhelm Rese describes the registration status for the next international demonstration fair for the raw and building materials industry as very satisfactory: The signs more than nine months before the start of steinexpo 2020 clearly show a positive development. Almost all market leaders from the fields of dismantling-loading-transporting-processing have so far registered for participation. This currently corresponds to an occupancy rate of around 75% of the available outdoor exhibition area. Even the indoor areas in the large pavilions, which are traditionally only booked later, are already registering a rate of around 45%.
