New steinexpo record
26/08/2023 The 11th steinexpo came to an end with a tremendous success story to tell. After the difficult preceding years, the aim of the event team of this quarry demonstration fair from 23 to 26/08/2023 was to reach the attendance figures of 2017 (53,890) if at all possible – the sensational reality is that this expectation has been surpassed. The official visit count increased to 61,700 (i.e. 15% more compared to 2017). All the indications are that the 11th demonstration fair will have a very special place in the chronicle of this event, which has been held every three years since 1990, as a "record-breaking steinexpo" – with only one unintentional interruption caused by the Corona pandemic in 2020 and the alternative date in 2021. Exhibitors praised the quality of the trade visitors, the extremely professional organisation of the show and confirmed having conducted excellent discussions. Moreover, a whole host of them resulted in surprising business deals.
steinexpo 2023 – Press release on the opening
23 August 2023: The popular international demonstration fair for the raw materials and building materials industry is back. On 23 August 2023 at midday, the official "starting signal" was given for the 11th steinexpo at the MHI basalt quarry in Nieder-Ofleiden. After the corona-related events forced the cancellation of the trade fair in 2020 and 2021, the event's rotational fair year as well as the alternate date, the tension was almost palpable among the organising team, the trade fair director, exhibitors and partners alike. This spontaneously changed to relief after the pressing of the obligatory start button marked the opening. And it immediately signalled the end of the silence in the quarry observed for the opening ceremony. From now on, it's all about action until the last hooter sounds! Anyone who knows construction machinery fairs is familiar with this custom. Shortly before the curtain call, all the steel actors gather once more for the traditional farewell honking and waving concert. Intrinsic to such emotional moments, everyone, whether on the exhibition or the event side, expects business to be successful, despite all the economic uncertainties.
steinexpo 2023: We provide a home for your solution
August 2023: The processing of rock as well as mineral residues and secondary raw materials will mainly be displayed and demonstrated in the form of many specific, mobile units for crushing, classifying and sorting on exhibition area C at steinexpo, although visitors can also catch a glimpse of these machines at levels B and D. While individual units such as crushers, mills and screens as the centrepieces of stationary plants are restricted to the presentation, mobile plants and attachments can be seen in action during the demonstration exhibition. The corresponding demonstration times are coordinated to suit visitors. This turns the walk through the trade fair into a tour packed with knowledge. An excerpt of the offers listed per topic follows below.
The countdown begins: steinexpo 2023
July 2023: The six years separating the last steinexpo and the start of this year's fair were nothing but unusual. This interruption was far too long for all participants and fans. This hiatus has raised the expectations for this very special quarry demonstration fair – a unique event on the European mainland – to a high level. And that is understandable. Because it is clear from the current data of registrations as well as online tickets sold that steinexpo 2023 will meet all expectations.
Insights with a view at steinexpo
June 2023: In just a few weeks' time, renowned companies will once again be showing off their most eye-catching star brands at steinexpo from 23-26 August 2023. Of course, not every highlight can be revealed yet. However, the curtain can already be raised on a few special innovations from the construction machinery sector here. One thing is certain. The large LED wall allowing the live onsite demonstrations to be followed in detail on a large screen was definitely worth it – and the previews heighten the anticipation.

April 2023: As of the end of March, 268 exhibitors representing a total of 395 brands have already registered for steinexpo 2023. This almost equals the number of successful registrations and names of participants of the last trade fair in 2017. This means that all leading companies of the mining and processing industry will present their machines and services in August. The Geoplan event team even assume that steinexpo 2023 could see a record number of participating exhibitors. The reason being that there are only a few remaining spaces to fill before the exhibitor circle is closed in the coming months.
steinexpo partnerships report
February 2023: As early as 1990, a unique trade fair with a unique selling point was born from an idea. And almost 33 years later, steinexpo has lost none of its appeal. While other trade fairs are still struggling with the consequences of the last few years, the current level of registrations for steinexpo 2023 is even higher than the comparable level for the last time the fair was held. More than 260 exhibitors representing around 370 brands have already booked their participation. This means that almost 90% of the available space has been allocated.
Countdown to the reunion
Oct 2022: steinexpo 2023 evokes feelings of both longing and anticipation. Longing for the unique event that we have had to do without for far too long. Anticipation to meet again in less than a year with the current figures and events giving clear indications of what we can look forward to at the International Demonstration Fair from 23 to 26 August 2023.
July 2022: The Industrial Minerals Association (IMA) Europe is becoming the new steinexpo partner. The Industrial Minerals Association Europe and steinexpo have now agreed that IMA Europe will be the new technical and conceptual partner of steinexpo with immediate effect.
Mai 2022: There was no denying that déjà vu moment. In fact, everything was actually already in the bag, but the situation around the pandemic led to the last steinexpo to be cancelled in the end. As a prelude to steinexpo 2023, the crème de la crème of the faithful die-hards met on 27 and 28 April 2022 for the meeting of the traditional group of returning exhibitors. The meeting was followed by an exciting on-site visit to get a feel for where they would like to present themselves and their company’s exhibit from 23 to 26 August 2023. Because a lot has also happened in the last few years in Europe's largest basalt quarry, the stage for the popular demo trade fair.
