Well Prepared
In around two weeks, steinexpo 2026 will open its doors in Europe’s largest basalt quarry. For the organizers, this means that preparations are already running at full speed. Visitors, too, are looking forward to unique experiences among the biggest machines in live operation and many other pioneering innovations. But what else do I need to know? What should I keep in mind? Our top tips will help ensure a stress-free journey and the best possible stay for a lasting and positive steinexpo experience.
The official build-up phase for steinexpo 2026 begins on August 24. From August 29 at 4 p.m., the steinexpo webcam will provide a live view of what is happening on site. And anyone already visiting the trade fair website (www.steinexpo.eu) or using the accompanying steinexpoAPP can also order Print@home tickets or redeem any available voucher codes right there. The season ticket costs 38 euros, discounted ten euros. The Saturday ticket, priced at 10 euros, is exclusively available to visitors from the Vogelsbergkreis, Schwalm-Eder-Kreis, Main-Kinzig-Kreis, Wetteraukreis, Hersfeld-Rotenburg, Fulda, Gießen, and Marburg-Biedenkopf districts. For online ticket purchases, each ticket holder, as tickets are issued in the holder’s name, needs their own email address. Children and young people up to the age of 14 can enter free of charge when accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Apprentices up to the age of 18, school students, university students, and senior citizens can make use of the reduced season ticket. Visitors under the age of 18 may only attend the trade fair when accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Visitors should wear safety footwear and observe the mandatory helmet requirement. Safety helmets are available on site for 12 euros each. For children under 14, a bicycle helmet is sufficient. Hearing protection is recommended. Further information is available in the trade fair catalogue, which can be purchased at the ticket office for 15 euros.
Parking, Costs and Shuttle Buses
For those travelling by car, the appropriate destination depends on the direction of travel. Visitors arriving from the north should use the North Visitor Car Park, which covers six hectares. Coming from the A 49, take exit no. 21, “Stadtallendorf/Süd”. At the following roundabout, keep left towards Schweinsberg/Niederklein. Follow the signs for “Besucherparkplatz”. The destination address is: Grillplatz Schweinsberg, 35260 Stadtallendorf Schweinsberg. Visitors arriving from the south should head for the South Visitor Car Park at Bodenweg, 35315 Homberg/Ohm. Coming from the A 49, take exit no. 22, “Homberg (Ohm)/Nord”, towards Homberg (Ohm). Signs will guide you to the 2.8-hectare visitor car park. Please note: Welckerstraße is closed due to construction work, and access from Gontershausen is not possible. Parking costs 7 euros per day. Please have the exact amount ready when entering the car park, as payment is cash only.
Free shuttle buses operate between the visitor car parks and the trade fair entrance, and back again. They run on demand, according to visitor requirements. The journey takes approximately seven minutes. Exhibitor and VIP parking spaces are available at the trade fair entrance.

About steinexpo: As the largest and most important quarry demonstration trade fair on the European continent, steinexpo celebrated its premiere in September 1990 at the Nieder-Ofleiden quarry. The event is held every three years.
Against the impressive backdrop of the quarry, manufacturers and dealers of construction and working machinery, commercial vehicles and trucks, as well as systems for raw material extraction and processing, demonstrate their capabilities in impressive live demonstrations. Another key focus of the exhibition is the recycling of mineral construction materials.
steinexpo is organized by Geoplan GmbH, Iffezheim.
The latest information on the 12th steinexpo is regularly available on the trade fair website at www.steinexpo.eu and on Instagram and Facebook: @steinexpo_official.
