steinexpo 2026 - PI 6, Pure Hands-on Action

Pure Hands-on Action

Look Who’s Hard at Work!

steinexpo 2026 is fully living up to its reputation as the ultimate XXL demo show. In the main demo area alone, over 20 machines from ten different manufacturers will be action-ready and live. Audiences can catch all the action from prime-view grandstands, while a massive LED wall provides close-ups of loading, transport operations, and other high-energy highlights.

When the heavyweights of the raw and building materials industry gather at steinexpo 2026 in Nieder-Ofleiden from 2–5 September 2026, the industry’s flagship event will once again showcase an incredible lineup of live machinery demonstrations. Set against the backdrop of Europe’s largest basalt quarry, the site will transform into an impressive, working "exhibition quarry" for four action-packed days.

At the very top of every visitor’s must-see list is the general demo area. This hands-on showcase of heavy machinery and processing equipment takes place on the lowest demo level (Area A), offering a truly unique backdrop. "Our 35-minute demo shows provide a massive stage for seven high-performance machines at a time," says exhibition director Dominik Rese from the organizing company, Geoplan GmbH based in Iffezheim.

Bringing together 21 machines from ten manufacturers, the general demo delivers seven spectacular shows per day, with the exception of opening day, which features six shows alongside the supporting program. Two large 20 x 3-meter grandstands invite guests to take a seat and enjoy the action, while a 9.2 x 5.2-meter LED wall ensures that not a single detail is missed.

What, Where, and When to Catch It Live

The live demos on September 2, 2026 kick off at 09:00, 10:00, 12:30, 13:30, 14:30, and 15:30. On the following days (September 3–5), the shows start on the half-hour every hour from 09:30 to 15:30. The emotional grand finale takes place on 5 September at 16:45, featuring the traditional final wave and a "Goodbye" horn concert from all participating machines. Detailed demo schedules will be available from mid-August via the steinexpoAPP or in the official on-site exhibition catalog.

The list of participating brands reads like a Who’s Who of the construction equipment world. Liebherr leads the pack with machines (a.o. TA 230 6x6 articulated dump truck, L 580 XPower wheel loader, and the PR 756 G8 bulldozer), Volvo CE follows with a powerful trio (L350H Long Boom wheel loader, A50J articulated hauler, and the EC750E crawler excavator). Two live machines each will be fielded by Schlüter Baumaschinen (Komatsu PC950LC-11 large hydraulic excavator and HD605-10 dump truck), Develon (DL550-7 wheel loader and DA30-7 S3 articulated dump truck), JCB (457 ZX wheel loader and Fastrac 6000 tractor), XCMG (XC975EV electric wheel loader and XE270EV electric crawler excavator), and PTH Products (Crusher 2500 HD RS stone crusher attachment and EC-L 1400 excavator crusher). Kiesel presents the Hitachi ZX690-7 large excavator and the Bell B45E dump truck. Also featured is the WRC 240 X cold recycler/stabilizer from Wirtgen.

Live Action Across the Entire Venue

Zeppelin is bringing its machinery to life right on its own 3,800 m² stand (C2). Under the banner of steinexpo’s innovation theme, "Quarry Vision 2.6," they will showcase two cutting-edge solutions: the Cat Detect collision avoidance system and the Cat Command remote control system. Special "Quarry Vision 2.6" design elements on the main venue map at the entrance will guide visitors to other innovators like Liebherr or Anlagenbau Günther.

But that is not all: guests can experience additional live demonstrations and pioneering industry solutions at numerous booths scattered across the entire quarry. It is highly recommended to tackle steinexpo in comfortable (safety) shoes!

Fully Charged, Fully Fueled

Walking an exhibition quarry can work up quite an appetite—and since good food is the backbone of high performance and a successful day out, the organizers have completely upgraded the catering concept. Teaming up with Heilbronn-based catering pros Roadbar, the enhanced culinary lineup now stretches across the main demo zones.

Visitors can relax and unwind in the steinexpoBISTRO area of Exhibition Pavilion II, which includes an outdoor terrace offering stunning, direct views of the action. Meanwhile, the steinexpoVILLAGE features numerous food trucks serving up food and drinks for every taste—with the breathtaking quarry scenery included free of charge.

Smartphone tip: All event information is expected to be available digitally by mid-August via the steinexpoAPP.

steinexpo: As the largest and most important quarry demonstration trade fair on the European continent, steinexpo celebrated its premiere in September 1990 at the Nieder-Ofleiden quarry. The fair is held every three years. In impressive live demonstrations set against the backdrop of the quarry, manufacturers and dealers of construction and industrial machinery, commercial vehicles and trucks, as well as systems for raw material extraction and processing showcase their capabilities.
