On December 4, 2025, representatives of Geoplan GmbH and exhibiting companies met for the coordination meeting of the General Demo for steinexpo 2026 in Nieder-Ofleiden, Hesse. For the first time in the history of the trade fair, this gathering took place four months earlier than usual. This ensures optimal planning reliability for all parties involved.
On-site, trade fair director Dominik Rese, Marc Vogelsberger (contact for outdoor areas), and Tajan Tudeshki, Technical Director of the demonstration trade fair, provided information on the current state of preparations. In addition, attendees had the opportunity to visit their future stand areas directly on location and—if necessary—conduct final measurements and make concrete plans.
The Heart of the Meeting
The focus was on the specific procedures of the General Demos, which will cover 14,000 m² of the trade fair grounds according to current planning. These demos have always been a spectacular highlight of this XXL performance show in Europe’s largest basalt quarry. A first look at the initial schedule revealed which machine cooperations are planned for which times on specific trade fair days. Once again in 2026, numerous renowned construction machinery manufacturers will take part in the choreographed and moderated demonstrations. “Everyone involved shares the anticipation of these one-of-a-kind demonstrations,” summarizes trade fair director Dominik Rese. The meeting also convinced exhibiting companies with the possibility of exchanging individual machines and adjusting and optimizing the schedule once more.
The result is a carefully designed interplay of loading, transport, and special machinery that not only delivers a show with strong public appeal but also reflects practical and realistic applications—meticulous preparatory work that pays off.
Current Planning Status
Detailed and early time management allows all exhibitors to optimally prepare their own trade fair presentations. However, interested companies that have not yet registered for the demonstration trade fair should not wait much longer. The current site plan shows the exhibition areas still available. It also shows that the trade fair entrance as well as both large pavilions for indoor exhibits are located on Demo Area D. Demo Area B focuses primarily on processing technology, while the lowest Demo Area A is home to the General Demo as well as numerous construction machinery manufacturers and suppliers. At the highest point of the quarry, Demo Area C will also be occupied by renowned construction machinery manufacturers and matching accessory providers.
Cooperation as the Key to the Trade Fair
steinexpo—just like “our” industry—succeeds only through collaboration. This ensures the best possible results for everyone. One of the contributors is “Quarry Vision 2.6” — the “most innovative” part of the trade fair, referencing the event year, featuring a variety of new developments—from prototypes to market-ready products—directly on the exhibitors’ stands. On display will be trends and opportunities in user-assistance systems for machinery and plant engineering. Closely linked to this are future skilled workers who will develop and support these technologies. This is where “Think BIG!” comes in—an initiative of the VDMA aimed at inspiring young people on-site to pursue technical professions and studies. All exhibitors are warmly invited to participate in this proven initiative. “With this collaboration, we can look forward to a promising future and a successful steinexpo 2026,” says Dominik Rese confidently.
