steinexpo 2023 - Press Release 2

Contract successfully signed

Geoplan and MHI are fixing the dates for the next two events of the quarry demonstration fair steinexpo

July 2021: After the trade fair literally had to be paused in shutdown mode for months due to the Corona situation, an important step towards the future has now been taken: The Mitteldeutsche Hartstein-Industrie AG (MHI) will again provide suitable areas for steinexpo 2023 and 2026 in Europe's largest basalt quarry in Homberg/Nieder-Ofleiden. For this purpose, the contract between the organiser Geoplan and the quarry operator MHI was signed on 21 July 2021. At the same time, the organisers of Europe's largest quarry demonstration fair started the actual preparatory work for the 11th steinexpo from 23 to 26 August 2023.

Motivated by the successful previous events, the organising and planning team of Geoplan GmbH has set ambitious goals for the new event to bring new inspiration to the industry professionals with the eleventh steinexpo in the summer of 2023. Trade fair director Dr Friedhelm Rese is particularly pleased that “after this long waiting period, there are finally clear signals in the right direction. We are hugely looking forward to being able to again use the quarry, which has meanwhile become internationally known through steinexpo, for the unique demonstration fair in 2023 and 2026.”

The relief provided by the agreement is by no means limited to the trade fair organisers. Dr Rese describes the broad consensus as follows: “It is only thanks to the assistance and support of all exhibitors and service providers, who, like us, are looking forward to the next event, that it is possible to hold this equally elaborate and unique trade fair again. As the organisers, we are now working together with our trade fair partners and the exhibitors to make steinexpo 2023 the central meeting point for industry professionals from all aspects of the European raw and building materials industry.”

MHI board spokesman Christoph Hagemeier adds delightedly: “After two unsuccessful attempts in the Corona years, we are very pleased that those responsible at Geoplan were not discouraged by this difficult time and that we will continue our common tradition at the Nieder-Ofleiden site. We look forward to continue the long-standing cooperation with the organising team.”

steinexpo: As the biggest and most significant stone quarry demonstration exhibition on the European continent, the steinexpo had its premiere in the Nieder-Ofleiden stone quarry in September 1990. The trade fair is held in a three-year cycle. By means of impressive live demonstrations against the backdrop of a magnificent stone quarry, manufacturers and dealers of building and processing machinery, utility vehicles and heavy vehicles as well as plants for the extraction and treatment of materials put their performance capabilities on display. The recycling of mineral building materials represents another focus point. The steinexpo is organised by Geoplan GMBH, Iffezheim.
