April 2020: On 15 April 2020, the German Federal Government and the Minister Presidents of the Federal States declared that major events play an enormous role in the dynamics of infection. As a result, such events were banned at least until 31 August 2020. This means that the steinexpo planned for 26th to 29th August 2020 in Nieder-Ofleiden, Hessen, will also have to be postponed until 2021.
It is said that hope dies last. In fact, with regard to steinexpo 2020, it remained for a short while after 15 April 2020. After all, it is up to the individual states to decide on the concrete regulations and determine from what size and under what implementation criteria events fall under the proclaimed ban. In the meantime, however, the responsible authorities in Hesse have decided that the next steinexpo in Europe's largest basalt quarry cannot take place as planned at the end of August 2020.
This means that the 11th quarry demonstration fair for the raw and building materials industry will have to be postponed. Since a later date this year would entail renewed imponderables, the organisers, in agreement with the exhibitors and the associations involved as the technical-ideal sponsors of the trade fair, envisage a postponement until next year.
The new date as well as information on how to proceed will be announced as soon as possible via the known channels.

steinexpo: As the biggest and most significant stone quarry demonstration exhibition on the European continent, the steinexpo had its premiere in the Nieder-Ofleiden stone quarry in September 1990. The trade fair is held in a three-year cycle. By means of impressive live demonstrations against the backdrop of a magnificent stone quarry, manufacturers and dealers of building and processing machinery, utility vehicles and heavy vehicles as well as plants for reclamation and treatment of materials put their performance capabilities on display. The recycling of mineral building materials represents another focus point. The steinexpo is organised by Geoplan GMBH, Iffezheim.
